Shanghai Jiecon made its appearance at an international event | Professor Ma Zhengsheng shared the innovative achievements of chemically modified deodorizing fibers

On November 1, 2025, the 12th International Conference on Advanced Fibers and Polymer Materials (ICAFPM2025) grandly opened in Shanghai. As one of the largest and most academically influential events in the global fiber field, this conference, with the theme of "Better Fiber, Better World", brought together over 2,000 top scholars and industry leaders from 21 countries and regions to jointly explore the cutting-edge innovations and sustainable development of fiber materials. 

 Professor Ma Zhengsheng, the general manager of Shanghai Jiecon Chemicals Hi-Tech Co., Ltd., was invited to attend and delivered a special speech titled "Development of Chemically Modified Deodorizing Fibers", sharing the company's technological breakthroughs and practical achievements in the field of deodorizing fibers, which attracted widespread attention.

In his speech, Professor Ma Zhengsheng started by discussing the hazards of unpleasant odors and malodors and the demand for their control. He then systematically analyzed the common sources of odors such as those from car interiors and foul smells in daily life scenarios, as well as the mainstream detection standards in the industry. 

In response to market pain points, he focused on introducing the company's independently developed new type of photocatalytic nanomaterial - by doping and modification, the light response range of TiO₂ has been extended to the visible blue light region. The fabric treated with it has deodorization rates of 99% and 98% for ammonia and acetaldehyde respectively, and also has excellent wash resistance and formaldehyde removal performance.

  

 

Based on core material technology, Jiecon has successfully developed three series of chemically modified deodorizing fiber products:

01 Deodorant Acrylic Fiber

After undergoing copper post-treatment, flame retardant post-treatment and other upgrades, the elimination rate of odors such as ammonia and hydrogen sulfide can reach up to 99%. At the same time, it has antibacterial and antiviral functions, with a bacterial reduction rate of over 96% and an antiviral activity rate of  99.28%.

 

                                                                        

02 Deodorizing Viscose Fiber

After washing, it still maintains an ammonia elimination rate of ≥85% and an acetic acid elimination rate of ≥98%, suitable for scenarios such as sportswear and bedding.

 
  

03 Deodorizing Cotton Fiber

By modifying the active hydroxyl groups of cellulose, it inhibits odors at the source. After washing, the elimination rates of ammonia and acetic acid are both over 90%, solving the problem of cotton fibers easily absorbing odors.

 
 This appearance at the international conference not only demonstrated Jiecon's technological strength in deodorizing fibers, but also highlighted the solid confidence of Chinese enterprises in the innovation of advanced polymer materials. In the future, Jiecon will continue to focus on chemical modification technology, expand the application scenarios of its products, and provide more efficient and multi-functional deodorizing solutions for industries such as automotive interiors and textile home furnishings, contributing to the improvement of living environment quality.
